What do you love most about MTU?
I love the area! I am an outdoor fanatic and love the extreme and changing
seasons of the Wester Upper peninsula. The faculty and students at Michigan
Tech are also very open and helpful making for a wonderful learning
environment.
What is the best part of being in FYE?
The FYE program is so great dues to the extensive opportunities it offers first
year students. FYE encourages students to push the envelope both
academically and socially and that is why I like it!
What was your favorite past FYE event?
My favorite FYE event was helping build the 2005-2006 FYE snow statue of
Mario’s underwater world. It was great to see the FYE residents come
together and make such an impressive display of ice and snow!

What do you love most about MTU?
My favorite part of MTU is the environment. I love walking through campus
recognizing and greeting people. It is a great small community completely
different to what I grew accustom to back at home. People will become familiar
with you as a person as you get involved around campus.
What is the best part of being in FYE?
The best part of FYE is the people. When I first started in FYE I thought it
would more of a sheltered crowd but I was wrong. The people are helpful
and very personable. Everyone gets together to plan, compete, and enjoy
events.
What was your favorite past FYE event?
My favorite event is shared between two. I really love cliff jumping in the early
fall semester and camping on Lake Superior. I have had more fun at those two
events than I ever though possible. I also do enjoy working out on the snow
statue in January and broomball isn’t so bad itself.

What do you love most about MTU?
The best thing I love about MTU is how much people are willing to help you out.
It seems that no matter what you’re working on, be it homework or something
for fun, there’s always someone there who’s willing to lend a hand. I find this is
even true for most of the professors here at MTU.
What is the best part of being in FYE?
One of the best parts about being in FYE is that the people are so friendly and
willing to do anything fun and exciting. This really makes for a great atmosphere
to make new friends and maybe try something you never done before.
What was your favorite past FYE event?
My favorite past event of FYE would have to be the time that Adam and Kiel
decided to give a small tour of Houghton. I don’t know if they considered it an
event, but it was close enough. I had a blast because everything they said was
hilarious and I couldn’t stop laughing.
